It’s happening!

Dear friends of the Hub,

What’s up with the Hub? – some of you might have been thinking. Others might wonder: what is the Hub?… (if you do wonder, please click here to learn more). The below message has just been sent to about 75 people we admire, people that are doing great things for the world, people that we want to provide with the opportunity to be part of this co-creative venture The Hub in Brussels!

One year ago, when the Hub in Brussels was just a crazy idea, someone said “In Brussels you can find many great people doing wonderful things, but “the buzz” is missing.” And that’s what we want to create: a buzz around social innovation, social entrepreneurship and open innovation, a place for people with great ideas, providing space, knowledge and connections to grow great ideas into sustainable ventures.

Now one year later we managed to get a huge step closer to this dream coming true, WE HAVE A SPACE!!!

Yes, the Hub has a home! The University of Ehsal is providing us with a 300sqm, newly renovated space, right in the heart of Brussels (Stormstraat, corner Rue Montagne aux Herbes Potagères), 2 min walk from Central Station. (Note that we will be totally independent)

More than 50 people are interested in being part of the Hub, we have partnered with i-propeller, with whom we will be sharing the space and who will be running the Innovation & Action Lab there. Now we have to move fast and our ambitious goal is to open latest by the start of 2008. There is lots to do (space design, fund raising, build the membership…) and we could really use your help in moving forward on our Road Map . Please have a look at the draft Road Map and if you feel like contributing your time, contacts or any other resources, join us at the 1st HUB CO-CREATION MEETING in the first week of October. Please click here, indicate which date(s) you could make and we will chose the day on which most people are available. We will offer some snacks and drinks from 6pm and have the meeting 6.30 – 9.30pm. There will be time for connecting to each other and together we can explore questions like: Why a Hub in Brussels? What could a Hub in Brussels also be? What can be my concrete contribution?…

We hope to have triggered your interest and to see many of you in the first week of October. If you would like to help organise/design/facilitate the meeting, or if you have any questions, comments, ideas, please get in touch with Simone. Please also forward this to anyone you admire and you think could be interested.
