25 curious individuals came together in our potential space to be. We started with a small intro from me, Jason and Johan about how the Hub idea traveled to Brussels and about the collaboration with the Innovation & Action Lab. Then we had an introduction circle on the question: Who are you and why do you feel attracted by the Hub? 25 different inspiring stories, stories of curiosity, of wanting to make a change in ones own and other people’s life. We had quite a tight schedule and Ria did such a great job in helping us to use it in the most effective way, thank you Ria!
I had so many amazing moments of joy and one of the best ones was, when I got a call during the intro round and went down to open the door, while I was taking notes of what people said, so I got up, dropped the marker and went out. Apparently 3 people stood up to take my place, but what I saw was Viva sitting there and taking notes when I came back. A really warm feeling filled my heart!
After everyone had introduced themselves, we split up in small groups of 4 around the question: What could the Hub also be (for us, for Brussels, for Belgium and for the World)? Great tings came up and I will definitely integrate them in detail into the wiki pages, but to give you a few keywords that emerged: serendipity, inner learning and action, TRUST, people matter, not needing to know, space to relax and relate, EA (entrepreneur anonymous), cross community, united in diversity, rooted in reality, scaling, abundance, plenitude, open community, passion, fire, excitement, fun, 1+1=3, complimenting weaknesses, possibility, support center, training place, pro active sustainability, funding opportunities, link the lights…
After this rich and efficient harvest Ria opened space on the question: How can your passion(s) meet the Hub getting real and blossoming? Jason, Johan and me each posted a question, Johan’s was around the space design, Jason’s was on the services the Hub should offer and mine was: Who are the Social Innovators in Belgium and how can we attract them? Michel from UHDR also stood up and posted a session: How to make the “Hub bug” contagious (the net, the place, the community)? Dieter also wanted to post a session, but did not find the right words and asked us to start. It was really great, groups formed, some people were bumble bees and went from group to group to contribute a bit here and a bit there, pick up things and cross-pollinate ideas in other groups. The hosts of the various sessions promised to post their harvest here.
As a closing I thanked everyone for their amazing presence and Rik suggested that we all go home sensing into our bodies and hearts about what triggered our passion. I am curious to see what comes up and if people will share stuff around this deep question.
The energy during the whole meeting was amazing, the contributions, the questions raised! Also I have never seen such a fast and efficient clean up: in 5 minutes the whole room was cleaned and tables were put back into place. Many of the people said afterwards to me: wow I have never been in one room with so many diverse and interesting people! When we left the building at 9 and went to the Pub, you could see lots of shining, smiling and happy faces. I am so thankful to everyone for the great energy and now the big question I am sitting with is: How to follow up and use this amazing energy we created to transform ideas into action?
Thanks again everyone, you are incredibly wonderful people! All the pictures are here
